MINISTRY OF CULTURE AND TOURISM: CROSS-BORDER AID ACTIVITIES OF THE DIRECTORATE GENERAL OF FOUNDATIONS WERE AWARDED

4/28/2025

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced that the cross-border aid activities of the Directorate General of Foundations have been recognized and awarded.

Aid activities directed toward Bosnia and Herzegovnia in 2025, conducted in coordination with Bosnia’s Muftiate Institutions, the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Sarajevo Waqf Directorate — with the institutional partnership of the Emmaus International Solidarity Association — were granted the “Grand Donor” award.

Since 2014, our Directorate General has delivered humanitarian aid across borders to various regions in need across the world. As part of these efforts, a total of 74,000 dry food packages have been distributed during Ramadan, including this year. In 2025 alone, 29 days of iftar meals were provided to 600 people daily in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"As for the issues related to the foundations, it is known that foundations constitute an important asset of our country. I hope that all members of Council of Ministers together with the Ministry Of Religious Affairs and even the Supreme Assembly examine this issue with great care and that this great institution is protected from devastation and made useful for our country in order to ensure that our country can benefit from this asset as necessary."
