A MEANINGFUL GESTURE OF SUPPORT FROM OUR DIRECTOR GENERAL, MR. SINAN AKSU, IN VLASENICA
Six individuals who lost their lives during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina between 1992 and 1995, in which acts of genocide were committed, were laid to rest at a ceremony held at the Rakita Martyrs’ Cemetery in the city of Vlasenica. Our Director General, Mr. Sinan Aksu, and his accompanying delegation also attended the ceremony.
At the ceremony, where the funeral prayer was led by the Mufti of Tuzla, Mr. Vahid Fazlović, the six individuals were buried with prayers.
MARTYRS COMMEMORATED
During the spring and summer of 1992, approximately 2,500 Bosniaks lost their lives in Vlasenica. To date, 405 individuals have been buried at the Rakita Memorial Center.
For more than twenty years, every April, survivors, families, and relatives gather at the Rakita Martyrs’ Cemetery to commemorate those who lost their lives in the attacks against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
